A locally owned bookstore and a Colorado landmark, the Tattered Cover, with three unique locations, offers personal service, an extraordinary selection, coffee shops, extensive newsstands, and author appearances nearly every day. With books, gift cards, games, greeting cards, calendars, literary curious, t-shirts, book bags, and more, the Tattered Cover is a bookstore and much more! The Tattered Cover’s unique Coffee & Tea shops are the perfect place to enjoy a cup of Tattered Cover Blend—or your favorite coffee drink or freshly brewed tea from Vail Mountain Roasters. The coffee and specialty coffee drinks found on our menu all meet or exceed fair trade standards, and we offer organic teas and coffees, and single origin chocolates for retail sale. The shops serve a delightful assortment of fresh, locally prepared bagels, muffins, scones, sandwiches, soups, salads and more. Ceramic mugs are available for hot beverages consumed on site, and if you bring your own coffee sup or travel mug, you’ll get a discount on your drink. Pull up a chair and savor your newly discovered favorite author, study for your next exam, or gather with a group of friends. Or have your coffee to go while browsing the Tattered Cover’s many books, magazines, newspapers, calendars, greeting cards and gift items.

The Coffee & Tea Shops have implemented a "single stream" recycling program and use all biodegradable corn plastics for our cold drink cups. Many of our serving supplies and other paper goods are derived from post consumer materials.
