Small Business Week 2011

The Mile High Business Alliance is pleased to partner with the Denver Office of Economic Development and our partners to bring you  Small Business Week. This nationally recognized campaign acknowledges the vital role of small businesses in building our economy.

  • In the State of Colorado, there are more than 500,000 small businesses, employing more than 51% of the private workforce.
  • In a five year period, small businesses in Colorado created 166,158 more jobs than large employers, with firms under 20 employees having the greatest positive impact
  • Nationally, small businesses create 60-80% of all new jobs across the board

Small Business Week will culminate in a one-day forum to connect business owners with community resources to help their businesses succeed. Mark your calendars for this event, which will take place Saturday, May 21 at the Wellington Webb Building.

Saturday's keynote address will be from special guest Joshua Onysko, Founder and CEO of Pangea Organics. Joshua Onysko

Through his stewardship, Pangea Organics became the first company to introduce (and be awarded for) biodegradable, compostable, plantable packaging; Facebook/Twitter on packaging; and origami fold packaging. His efforts and products have been lauded by Entrepreneur, O (The Oprah Magazine), Time Style & Design, among many other top tier media outlets.
