Mile High Business Alliance is supported by innovative, dynamic individuals who are truly inspired by the everyday work of local businesses, and committed to building communities that are more responsible, healthy and resilient.

Mickki Langston

Executive Director

Recognizing the need to reclaim our power to envision, create, and share community wealth, Mickki co-founded the Mile High Business Alliance in 2007. Through Mile High Business Alliance, she gets to exercise her passion for healthy communities and her varied experience as a small business owner. Mickki lives in the Baker neighborhood of Denver where she frequents unique local businesses, grows a few vegetables, and nurtures her other passions, including cooking great dinners and making homemade maraschino cherries. Sara Breindel

Membership & Marketing Coordinator

Sara is originally from the East Coast, but fell in love with Denver at first sight and has since never strayed. Raising two native Coloradans inspires her to create the kind of community that values creativity, connection, and independence. A range of life experience creates her a background in ecology, corporate marketing, and non-profit work. Outside of work, Sara spends her energy on her family and friends, all kinds of activities related to food, and maintaining her sanity through early morning runs.

Anne Richardson

Campaign Art Direction and Design

An integral partner with Mile High Business Alliance from the beginning, Anne works to craft the messages and artwork behind the Local First campaigns. She loves the entrepreneurial spirit that seems to go hand-in-hand with living in Denver. So when she's not pushing pixels around, she's usually tinkering with some kind of clothing design or sustainable solution for minimalist living. In 2013, she published a book on minimalist packing for indefinite travel, and -- like always -- she currently has a couple of other projects on the back burner. Contact Anne.

Sundari Kraft

Policy Consultant / Lobbyist

Sundari Kraft was the founding co-chair of the Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council. She founded and organized Heirloom Gardens LLC, one of Denver’s first for-profit urban CSAs and apprenticeship training programs. Sundari created Sustainable Food Denver, a coalition of community members and stakeholder groups that advocates for sustainable food policy in Denver. She has also worked to pass children’s health care law at the State Capitol. Sundari has partnered with one of the state’s most respected political consultants and will be expanding her work in public affairs consulting. Sundari's partner is Shayne Madsen of Jackson Kelly, where she is the Leader of the Public Policy and Regulatory Affairs Practice Group. Shayne has been lobbying in Colorado for over 20 years and has strong relationships with the local business community.

Heather Smith

Born in the arctic cold "U.P." of Michigan, raised in the heat of the Arizona sun, and finally taking up root in the cool, Colorado air, Heather has been picture popping paparazzi for over 20 years before finally settling into "photographilanthropy" as a mindset and a career. She's eagerly trying to make the world a better place through visual expression, one pretty picture at a time. Heather photographs business owners for Mile High Business Alliance's Eat Local First campaign and records our major events and accomplishments. Contact Heather.
