We're taking nominations for the MHBA Board

If you're looking to take a leadership role in the Mile High Business Alliance, and want to contribute to an impactful and fulfilling organization, now you have the chance!

The Mile High Business Alliance is looking for nominations for our Board of Directors. We have one vacant seat and two that are coming up for re-election and we're going to vote on these seats at our Annual Meeting on January 16th.

Local Business Stance on #300

Ballot Initiative #300 comes before Denver voters in three weeks. The bill would require employers to provide paid sick leave to all employees in the City and County of Denver. 

The Mile High Business Alliance has given this issue careful review. We've discussed the issues with both campaigns, talked with member business owners, and considered the value and potential issues with the bill from the perspective of how to build a better community and economy.

Large & Small Businesses Opposing Paid Sick Leave Initiative

In November, Denver voters will decide on Ballot Initiative #300, requiring employers to provide paid sick time to employees. We've shared information from 9to5, the group sponsoring the law, and now we've received information from the group opposing the law.

The opposition campaign Keep Denver Competitive is managed by CLR Associates, and was first organized with support from the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, the Colorado Restaurant Association and the Downtown Denver Partnership. Many small and local businesses have joined the campaign, including several members of the Mile High Buisness Alliance. 

Mile High Business Alliance Members Featured in Sunset Magazine

Many wonderful local businesses and also members of the Mile High Business Alliance were focused in the May 2011 edition of Sunset Magazine. If you happened to miss this edition, you can still learn about how to plan a "Denver Day Trip: South Broadway." This fun online three-pager will tell you all about SoBo as it is known in Denver.
